Siegfried Bensinger

He once again succeeded at creating a sofa bed that doesn’t look like one with Lobby ( 2002 for Brühl). Similar freedom is offered by the sofa Space and the bed system Tatami (both 1987, for Strässle, respectively Interlübke), two additional contributions to the theme of mobile furniture. Space swivels on a floor plate and can thus be turned as needed, e.g. either to look out the window or at the television. In Tatami the distance between the beds can be varied. Now the system specialist has designed two programs that work anywhere in the home: Artena and Cintura (both for WK Wohnen). In Artena all of the cables disappear behind an indirectly lit wall panel. Cleverly calculated structural engineering makes the system look as if, instead of bearing weight, it were floating on thin air.
