Even in these rapidly changing times, there are some things we assume will continue to look the same, because they have always looked that way: for example the box-like lectern. But now, even this old standard has been given a fresh new appearance. The reduced, three-legged stand developed for Jonas&Jonas looks more like a camera tripod than anythimg else. Like a tripod, it is reduced in form and adjustable. The tubular stainless steel legs come together at a junction that is equipped with a Bakelite knob for adjusting the height and angle of the tray. Elastic bands or a wooden rail set into the work surface prevent papers from sliding off. Nudo, just as health-promoting as the Stitz leaning aid (Hans "Nick" Roericht, 1991) because standing eases the burden on the spine, offers versatile options for use – as an improvised breakfast table, an easel for quick sketches, a telephone shelf, music stand, projector table or – why not? – a lectern. After all, the lack of a barrier to the audience means that the speaker is visible from head to toe, making the situation that much more democratic .
